The Imperial Inquisitorial Police (IIP) are one of the key law enforcement divisions of the Amarr Ministry of Internal Order, focused primarily on maintaining law and order in direct holdings of the Imperial Throne, and any territories not coming under the direct jurisdiction of the six Royal Houses and their own police guards. Inevitably, given the complex, endlessly-shifting politics and webs of relationships between the Throne, Royal Houses, and their various vassals, there are any number of situations where the Ministry of Internal Order has some valid interest or mandate to intervene. Outright situations of unrest or flagrant criminality are often dealt with by the Ministry's feared Order Paladins, a paramilitary force given to act first and ask questions later. When investigation or a somewhat lighter touch is required the Imperial Inquisitorial Police are usually sent in. The Great Rebellion was the dawn of liberation for the Minmatar tribes that once lived almost entirely under the dominion of the Amarr. When the slave revolt broke out in 20 BYC (AD 23216), it stunned an Amarr Empire already reeling from the shock of their defeat by the Jovian fleet at the Battle of Vak'Atioth. The Minmatar that rose up were quickly able to cut a swathe through the territories surrounding the Matari home worlds, aided by groups of free Minmatar who had long operated as guerilla fighters both planet-side and in space. The Minmatar Republic was founded by four of the great tribes and was invited to join in the foundation of CONCORD in 3 BYC. By the end of YC 111, the Nefantar, Starkmanir and Thukker Tribes had rejoined their Brutor, Krusual, Sebiestor and Vherokior brothers and sisters in the Minmatar's Tribal Republic.

This special nanocoating mimics a layer of oxidation products on the surface of the ship it is applied to for decorative effect. The allusion to used and repurposed ships from the early days of rebellion and subsequently the Republic's fleets celebrates the early days of Minmatar spaceship design and the considerable combat effectiveness of such craft. For many years past, Minmatar spaceship technology has developed to a high level with modern and powerful ships supplanting older designs, which themselves have been upgraded and improved many times over. Even so, the old slogan "In Rust We Trust" has the power to evoke pride and memories of the glory days of Minmatar guerilla warfare and liberation.

The Republic Justice Police (RJP) are a uniformed branch of the Republic Justice Department, the law enforcement organization principally focused on fighting against crimes affecting the stability and security of the Republic and all the Tribes, such as terrorism, smuggling, and above all slavery. While other branches of the Republic Justice Department are active in more clandestine activities, such as counter-intelligence and supporting rebel groups in the Amarr Empire, the RJP tends to restrict its activities to internal crimes and co-operation with the various tribal and clan police forces in order to combat Republic-wide criminal networks. Given the complicated nature of jurisdiction and legality in the Tribal Republic of the Minmatar, the Republic Justice Police often encounter difficulties and outright disdain from many clans eager to maintain their rights and jealous of outside interference. Nevertheless, the RJP's units are often to be seen travelling across Republic space as the complexities and exceptions of space colonization and station life often mean that only the Republic's police forces can deal with the problems. Most colonies or stations prefer calling in the RJP rather than the paramilitaries of the Republic Security Services if a Republic presence is required.

In the icy climes of the Northern Mikramurka on Matar there are many traditional forms of transport that take advantage of the snow and ice fields to be found there. One of the most celebrated is still found as a traditional sport around the seismically active western interior of that region. The "bladeracer" sled competitions are usually held on the relatively gentle slopes of the dormant shield volcanoes typically found in the area. The climate means that the upper reaches of the volcanoes are covered in snow and ice all year round but the lower areas remain rather fertile and are warmed by vents. The consequent profusion of heathers and mosses give the hills and slopes their characteristic purple coloration during the "warm" season.

The high lords of the ancient Caldari Raata Empire used many different sigils but one of the most famous is the sign of the Emperor Bear, believed to have been the personal sigil of Emperor K'vire III Fuukiuye of the Second Unification Realm. While the ancient histories of the Caldari are shrouded in myth and legend, this bear sigil is clearly derived from a totemic attachment to the large Emperor Bears of the southern polar archipelagos. The Fuukiuye tribes are thought to have ranged as far south as the island taigas in their remarkable migrations across the face of Caldari Prime, and surely encountered the golden-furred Emperor Bears. It is likely that a golden bear totem was used by one of the paramount tribes and became associated with leadership over the centuries. Emperor K'vire III Fuukiuye was no doubt concerned to cement his leadership of the Raata Empire by using the symbolism. The sigil was dispensed with some two centuries later when the Fuukiuye emperors were supplanted by the Orioyoni under the leadership of Emperor Deteaas IX Orioyoni during the Third Unification. The Emperor Bear, like its northern Storm Bear cousin, remains a potent symbol for Caldari, indicative in some animist traditions of leadership that serves the collective.

In Caldari animistic mythology, the Ghostbirds are heralds of war sweeping down from the mountains on wings of snow flecked with the blood of those who will fall in battle. The imagery of the Ghostbird is very popular among the Caldari military and has become a special totem for pilots of all kinds of warships.

Caldari Prime's climate is renowned for being colder than most temperate worlds, but the large polar and subpolar regions are frigid indeed. The huge swathes of territory circled around the poles contain various biomes, including vast tundras, but the taigas of the subpolar belts are iconic in Caldari culture and mythology. The most charismatic of the fauna inhabiting these belts are the great bears of Caldari Prime. In the northern taiga, the Storm Bear reigns supreme, a creature larger than any other predator save the Emperor Bears of the southern polar archipelagos. The realm of the Storm Bear is far more mountainous than the southern islands and is known for the sky-wracking storms that sweep the forested slopes of the region. The Storm Bear, also called "Thunder Bear" in some Caldari animist traditions, takes its name from its rain-cloud grey pelt and its complete fearlessness, even in the face of the wind, rain and lightning of the greatest mountain storms.

The "Ultra Jungle" groups are a series of electronic warfare operator units that are each trained in the techniques and arts of jamming a specific potential enemy's sensors. In principle, the mission of an Ultra Jungle group is to literally turn the territory of the Caldari State into an impenetrable jungle of sensor dead zones and false signals to any invading force. The Ultra Jungle (Magneto) group is specialized in opposing the potential threat of a Gallente Federation invasion.

The Caldari State Workers Union is the single official workers organization that operates on a pan-state basis and is affiliated to by the workers organizations of all of the "Big 8" megacorps of the Caldari State. The State Workers Union concerns itself primarily with promoting good inter-megacorp relations between workers below the executive level throughout the Caldari State. A major portion of its work involves running vacation trips for working families that wish to experience the variety of Caldari society as expressed in different megacorporations. The highlight of the calendar for many Caldari workers is the Caldari Executive Panel mandated State Workers Union Day, one of the few universally observed public holidays in the State. Promotion of the virtues of honestly earned leisure time is exemplified in a special nanocoating that celebrates Union Day, with the proceeds going to the State Workers Union Orphans Apprenticeship Fund.

Now owned by the Sukuuvestaa megacorp, the Zento Isideko Combine represents the final fate of an old industrial concern from the early corporate era of Caldari society. Founded in the wave of corporate developments and consolidations of earlier business forms in the decades that followed first contact with the Gallente, Zento Isideko Combine was typical in its aspiration to become an interplanetary conglomerate in an era of enormous cultural and technological upheaval for the Caldari people. Led by their visionary founder Foss Kriistavaa, the Zento Isideko Combine rapidly became a leader in the construction of advanced transportation links across Caldari Prime and eventually realized the founding ambition of becoming an space-industrial powerhouse. Zento Isideko maintained its place in the upper tier of Caldari corporations for nearly 200 years, until the Third Sontogi Oskkaltiovone* of 22714 AD brought it within the sphere of a corporate grouping that would eventually become the Sukuuvestaa Corporation. After various corporate permutations over the centuries, the business is generally known as SuVee ZenIko on the stock markets. Even so, the old Zento Isideko Combine brand and livery is still used to distinguish the support fleets of the transportation construction, maintenance and security operations that the division carries out across the extensive holdings of Sukuuvestaa.
